Altech Card Solutions (ACS) has supplied payment terminals to the Banking and Retail industries in South Africa since 1993. Payment Terminals is a division of ACS and is a level 2 certified BBBEE contributor with value added service provider status, this allows suppliers to claim 156.25% of their spend with ACS as Preferential Procurement.

ACS Payment Terminal Division (PTD)
The Payment Terminal division of Altech Card Solutions provides secure certified card acceptance terminals to the South African Banking industry.
The full range of MagIC4 products developed by VeriFone has been manufactured to comply with international Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. With security and speed being paramount to any financial transaction, the card acceptance terminals rely on the latest security architecture that has been the result of years of experience in the card payment industry. The MagIC range offers high speed secure transactions as well as unrivalled flexibility of connection and communication without compromising security.
The ACS Repair Centre operation is accredited to perform Level 2 repairs of the complete range of VeriFone MagIC Point of Sale (POS) terminals and the Gemalto MagIC3 range of POS terminals. Proprietary diagnostic software is used to ensure that all repairs are completed to the manufacturers’ standards. The ACS Repair Centre has the capacity to service in excess of 10,000 terminals per month. A complete range of spare parts are held to support the current installed base in excess of 200 000 units. In addition to terminal servicing repairs, the ACS Repair Centre performs the pre-delivery preparation and inspection on all new units before delivery, provides receiving & dispatch processes, interfaces to the logistics local & international partners, and provides MIS reporting. All terminals are electronically managed through the workflow sections via the ACS ERP system.
ACS provides a Visa certified Tier-7 key injection facility for the loading of secure keys, both Pin & Data keys in a completely secure environment on behalf of customers. Loading of both DUKPT and Master session keys is available. On completion of the key injection process, the software load facility provides the loading of customer software applications on the terminals according to the customer requirements. The terminals are then packaged or palletised to be ready for dispatch or collection as required.
ACS has a software development team based in Johannesburg where all application software is written to comply with global standards. ACS has developed a range of software applications in standalone, mobile or integrated modes for use in credit, debit, voucher, loyalty, e-purse and other value added services. All software development done is in strict compliance with all International Banking Standards, Europay-MasterCard-Visa (EMV), China UnionPay (UnionPay), as well as conforming to the required PCI & P2PE standards. The development staff members have accumulated extensive expertise and understanding in the end to end encrypted processing of all types of transactions in a secure environment. ACS provides a service for the remote distribution of developed software to an entire installed base of card acceptance terminals countrywide.
Complimentary to the software development function are the product support specialists who focus on customer support of both hardware operations and application operations. A key function of this area is the testing of software applications for Bank specific UAT and for compliance certification.
